People who work with computers might ask this question,”Why is my computer so slow”?. It’s a fact that the more and longer you use your PC, the slower it will get. Most times, age the computer is not the problem. The key reason for a slow computer is years of downloading files, pictures, music, saving files and most times the slow down has nothing to do with how old the computer is. Before buying , try the following advice to speed up your slow computer and performance of the one you have.

1. Run Disk Defragmenter: Disk fragmentation will block your computer’s performance. When files are fragmented, the computer must look for the hard disk to locate the many pieces before the file can be opened. A fragmented disk will slow your computer down , especially adding special promotions large programs or files. To be able to have more organized filed on your pc and make it work faster, you have to use your computer’s disk defragmenter at least once per month.

2. Repair Disk Errors: Your computer may have some disk errors if it has shut down or crashed due to a power outage or other reasons. To give your computer a better performance, Windows supplies an error checking utility to look for the hard disk for bad sectors to fix.

3. Remove Fonts: So many computers now have a big list of fonts to use in work processor applications. There are different type of fonts and a number of them like the TrueType fonts use quite a bit of your computer’s system resources.To give your computer that extra boost, take out all the fonts, but those you usually use.

4. Scan for Viruses, Spyware and adware: Some viruses can wreak havoc on your pc, while other programs such as malware will stay dormant phone as they collect personal information and display random pop up messages. Whether there is a virus, spyware, adware or all three, programs such as Ad-Aware enables you to protect your private and personal information from an unauthorised. When your computer is free of viruses, adware, its speed will also improve.

5. Limit Programs at Start Up: Some have set their computers to start some programs automatically, when the computer is turned on. This can slow down your computer and you should limit these so they really do not eat away at the speed and performance of your computer. The less that is running on your computer, the more space can be saved to run the programs you desperately want.

6. Clear Browser Cache: Your browser cache, also known as the Temporary Internet Files folder, stores many of the images, sounds, video, and web pages if you are utilizing the net. Most of these stored items will never be visited again and by clearing some of the cache frequently, you can free up some memory space on your desktop.

7. Delete Cookies: You’re going to get cookies from almost every website that you visit and often you won’t ever use them again. All those cookies picked up from different websites, will build up and take up much space on your hard drive. This is another cause of a slow computer. Start deleting those cookies every month and soon you will notice an improvement on your computer’s speed.
